But it's easy enough to find someone who looks down on you ..."

Dearest,
Mom's making lemonade (without Roohafza). I asked her to put Roohafza, but she said, "You all don't like Roohafza, so I don't put it anymore; if you want add to your taste, 'swad anusad', she said in fluent Hindi. Her Hindi is flawless. :)
Supervising the maids as I watched her do so, I marveled at her prowess and authority. "Chop the lemons, give her (2nd maid) the ghee, take out the turmeric, fry the parathas, keep the ghee in the fridge, ... " endless! But her stamina is more :)
Now she sits in front of me, squeezing the aforementioned lemons into the sugar syrup, to make the lemonade for Iftar, telling Sohel, our gate-boy, what Vim powder looks like...
I saw Papa, and requested him to buy me a new pair of sneakers for Eid. Mom then scolded me saying, "You've already got two pairs, I can see them!" When I mentioned that one of them is on the brink of extinction, she told me, her red hair glowing, to throw it out!
Mom's a Gemini, flawless at home affairs and supervising. She was telling our beloved Sohel to make a list of things to make a list of things we needed, (Vim powder, 7-Up ...) when suddenly Rina bua perked up from the kitchen, "Harpic!". No surprise. She's in charge of 'toilet' affairs. :D
"The person associated with a particular duty is more accustomed with that duty." - Mom
Then bua exclaimed, "You can use flour to wash Bombaya fish too!" (ahem!) that remains to be seen) She used to work in a South Indian household, so she shares her all-too-unique experiences with us sometimes. LoL
But washing fish with flour... to make what? Fish-cake? Probably, but the good thing is that the 'Bombayas' didn't use Vim powder instead.
Dad just left for performing Ihtekaf at the local masjid. He'll be there till the new moonrise of Shawwal, as is the norm.
Kitty's asleep on the other hand. He prayed all night last night I think; it was Shab-E-Qadr. (The Night of Power).
Last night, as I watched the night prayers on the Saudi National TV channel, I followed the recital of the Qur'an. The Imam, Sheikh Abdur Rahman As-Sudais, was reciting the Sura Ar'af (The wall with elevations)
The beginning of the Sura narrates the story of Adam and Eve, and their banishment from Heaven as they ventured to the Forbidden Tree. God's love for man is unimaginable. He forgave when Adam repented and sought salvation. The few ayahs of the Sura that narrated the story deeply moved me.
More so, because I betrayed a dear friend, promising never to talk to her again. :(
Sigh...
It's 2:43p.m. now. I've completed one recital of the whole Quran throughout Ramzan. It felt good. I prayed for my grandparents, and Elders who passed away - for their eternal salvation.
Ramzan flew! "Time flows by like water" my uncle said once. So true.
Take care dearest.
